Pirates are on the High Seas today. Modern Pirates have been in the news lately due to the kidnapping of a United States captain. Present-Day pirates are a threat to the United States security and to our economy (the goods and services that we use). Think of all of the materials you (or your parents) have purchased over the past month...clothes, technology, furniture, shoes, etc...probably we made in or around SouthEast Asia. These countries include: China, Hong Kong, and India. How do these goods get to your favorite store? By ship, of course...but not if the Somalian Pirates get to those ships first...
